The Italian stakeholders in Umbria circular bioeconomy are many and differentiated with respect to the individual structural and cultural characteristics. We list the main aspects that can be related in this sense:

  • Forest production: wood, wood chips, pellets, mushrooms, truffles, small fruits
  • Farm Houses
  • Educational farms
  • Restaurants
  • handicraft
  • Valorisation of agricultural and forestry by-products (energy, fertilisers, mulch, building material)
  • Slow tourism
  • Experiential tourism
  • Trekking
  • Horse Riding
  • Cycle paths and routes
  • Product tasting
  • Local markets
  • Direct sales

The economic circuit involves farms and forestry companies in a logic of recovery, savings and reuse of products and by-products.

Agricultural by-products: fertilization, mulching, handicrafts

Forest by-products: handicrafts, green building, energy, mulching, heat

And in a logic of close connection with social cooperatives and associations for the well-being of the population: migrant work, work of protected categories, slow tourism, trekking, experiential tourism.

In addition to this, the creation of short economic supply chains finds strong support in the creation of small local markets for the enhancement of typical and quality products.

In this context, forestry companies also play a fundamental role in the creation of recreational services and for the well-being of the population:

  • Green areas
  • Trails
  • Campsites and accommodation services
  • Sports areas
