The 1st Meeting of the Advisory Group on Advanced Technologies in Trade and Logistics, taking place on Thursday 30 January 2020, in Room VIII, Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland.

The purpose of the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) Advisory Group is to advise governments and high-level managers responsible for implementing advanced technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). Together, we plan to explore implementation challenges, regulatory obstacles, interoperability obstacles and assess the potential impact of these technologies on standards, services and everyday operations.

This meeting is open to all interested stakeholders and will provide an overview of the application of advanced technologies in international trade and logistics including examples of practical use cases and implementation challenges. The Advisory Group will then detail how it can support stakeholders in the development of ecosystems that support the changes necessary for the effective implementation of these technologies which will form the foundation of competitiveness in the 21st century.

We are encouraging participation from all interested parties having the knowledge and experience from governmental institutions, business, civil society, consumer organizations, international organizations, UN/CEFACT experts and Representatives from the Missions.

The agenda of the meeting and the meeting documents will soon be available on the meeting page.
