The third LIVERUR meeting was celebrated in Azores in order to show the results of the project of the last 6 months. They were presented to the different stakeholders and there were established the following steps of the project. 

This european project is coordinated by the Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia (UCAM) within the Horizont 2020 program. Pablo Cano, the director of the International Project Office of UCAM, said that “The objective of the project is to boost the economy of the rural areas, propose new formulas for economic development and multiply the formulas of international cooperation between these territories”.

This time, the meeting was in Azores, one of the 13 scenarios of the LIVERUR pilot zones, which aim is to develop the rural areas through the circular economy. Also, it is the place where the partner of the activity, Fundo Regional para a Ciência e Tecnologia do Governo Regional dos Açores (FRCT) operates.

During the meeting, 23 partners from 13 countries, presented their work in order to improve the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which operate in the agricultural sector in Europe. Also, the RAIN platform was introduced. The next LIVERUR meeting will take a place in Reggio Emilia (Italy) in November 2019.
