The Spanish Association of mushrooms plantation has been presented in Murcia. 70 people from this region are involved.
This association was created as an alternative crop in the region of Murcia against to the climate change. The partners of this project are Desert Truffle, technological specialists, like the botanical department of the University of Murcia (UMU) and the ‘spin-off’ Thader Biotechnology.
The main activity is to grow truffle in the field of Torre Pacheco (Murcia). This project, called The truffle of the desert, was developed to find agricultural production with considerable added value. Also, it has to respect the environment and to be adapted in a dry weather.
For all of these, the aim is to build a new agricultural activity, which has to be ecological, profitable and with an international reach.
